About Us
Cole Construct is part of the Cole Group based in Ashford, Kent. The company is owned by two directors, who originally formed the company in answer to the needs of existing clients in other parts of the group's activities. The origins of the Cole Group extend back to 1964, with the current owners expanding the group in the mid 1990s.
The management team is built up of experienced and energetic construction professionals, who have throughout their careers achieved at the highest levels. The management structure is a careful balance of commercial skill, knowledge and technical ability, combining to provide the best possible service to clients.
The company's policy of direct employment has produced a loyal and expert work force. This has resulted in long-term service, more control at site level and high standards of workmanship. The hands on approach of all office staff, who engage in regular site attendance to monitor the quality of the installation at all stages, has complemented the skilled onsite teams.
Cole Construct operates across the south east, including Kent, East Sussex, Surrey and Essex. It has excellent client retention rates, including Portakabin, Cranbrook School, Pararail, Network Rail and the Ministry of Defence.
Cole Construct's business is split into three main elements:
- Design and build construction
- Civil engineering and groundworks
- Construction
The company operates as both principle and sub-contractor. For instance, it often sub-contracts ground-works schemes to other principle contractors. Half of Cole Construct's business is generated from groundworks schemes, which contribute to its growing turnover. Cole Construct takes on projects up to £500k as a sub-contractor and up to £3m when operating as principle contractor.
Cole Construct operates a comprehensive health and safety system, which is accredited under the CHAS scheme. The company adheres strictly to health and safety and welfare regulations, and often takes on the role as CDM coordinator, usually on design and build projects. All Cole Construct staff are trained to the highest levels in health and safety, including NEBOSH, and IOSH. All site staff have CSCS cards and use plant operator tickets to the latest standards.
