Project: The Golden Boot

This scheme is for a roof extension to the rear of The Golden Boot providing an additional 145m2 of storage space.

The Golden Boot fronts onto Gabriels Hill, a pedestrian street. This is a challenging project due to the constraints of a very tight site with only limited access from the basement of the shopping centre to the rear of the site. Part of the existing building is Grade 2 listed and has had a number of extensions over time, this poses further challenges in that none of the walls are parallel.

The roof extension construction will be a steel frame with black profile metal cladding, forming a contemporary black box at first floor with the ground floor face brick forming a base.

Working closely with MRW Design and the client we have developed the design to create a scheme within the client’s budget. We have also worked closely with our structural engineer to develop a cost effective solution that has been reflected in the overall cost to the client.
