Supercups Vending, Orbital Park, Ashford
We have recently been granted planning permission for a new industrial building on Plot B, the last undeveloped site on the J2 site off Crowbridge Road, Orbital Park, Ashford.
The proposed development is a design and build scheme for Supercups 2009 Pension Trust, to construct a bespoke industrial building providing 4500 sq ft of warehouse / workshop space and 3000 sq ft of ancillary office space over two floors providing Supercups Vending with a new prestigious office and storage facility.
Supercups Vending Ltd are a well established Ashford based company, currently operating from their existing offices in Kennington, they provide a variety of vending machines sales and replenishing services throughout the south east. A large portion of our clients business involves the distribution of stock to their customer base using small to medium commercial vehicles.
The new facility has been designed with the clients operational requirements in mind. The construction is a steel portal frame with composite cladding to the walls and a built up cladding system to the roof. The front and side elevation include a micro-rib horizontal panel, with a contrasting colour bottom panel creating a base to the building.
The external works comprise a hard surfaced yard for staff parking and loading and offloading areas for the delivery vehicles complimented by soft landscaping.
The building will use the latest techniques to comply with building regulations and we have incorporated sustainable drainage. A built-in rain water harvesting system will be used for washing vehicles and the peak off flow from the site will be restricted through the use of a vortex flow control and below ground storage retention.
As a design and build contractor with an in-house design department and close associations with professional design and structural engineers we have been able to provide a complete service to the client and any savings made have been passed on in the overall project costs.
Throughout the project, Cole Construct are acting as the CDM coordinator, managing the health and safety aspects of the project.
The project is running on target and is due for completion in October 2010.
